Dr. Smith received his BS in Physics in 1975 and then attended the University of Florida College of Medicine receiving his MD degree in 1979. Dr. Smith then completed a four year residency at Shands Teaching Hospital in Gainesville Florida.

While practicing traditional medicine Dr. Smith also become interested in complementary healing methods.
Dr. Smith retired his traditional practice in 1998 and pursued a second career in the nutraceutical industry with the goal of learning more about nutritional and herbal medicine. During this time Dr. Smith participated in nutraceutical research and design, and in nutraceutical quality assurance program management.

As a result of experiencing his own health issues Dr. Smith began to explore ways to integrate traditional and complementary medicine to achieve optimal health and wellness. He studied antiaging medicine and bariatric medicine and applied what he learned to his own conditions, eventually developing the knowledge into a cutting edge age management medicine program. Ultimately Dr. Smith studied at the Cenegenics Institute which is the largest and most experienced Age Management Medicine practice in the world. The Cenegenics Age Management Medicine program is certified by the American Medical Association.

Dr. Smith is Certified in Age Management Medicine and Bioidentical Hormone Replacement by the Cenegenics Institute and is the first physician to bring a comprehensive antiaging medicine program to the Atlanta area.
